Paint > Eraser > Clear Canvas Layer

Erases the whole content of the image layer at once.

Select the layer, then choose Paint > Eraser > Clear Canvas Layer. All the paint is removed, but the image layer remains.

This tool is also found in the Edit menu of the Canvas Layer Editor.
