To install a license

  1. Once you receive your license via email, launch the Product Configuration Wizard, as follows:

    (Windows) Select Start > Programs > Autodesk > Alias 2010 > Licensing

    (Mac) Select Go > Applications > Autodesk > Alias2010 and double-click Licensing

  2. The Product Configuration Wizard window opens. Select I have a license that I need to install and follow the instructions. (For details, see Activating Alias from a serial number and follow step #8 onwards.)

If you are setting up a floating server and a network of clients, go to the topic Setting up floating servers without installing the software.

If the licensing is not successful

If the license installation is not successful, the Product Configuration Wizard window reports "Installation Incomplete."

  1. Click the Show Installation Log button to read a log to find out what went wrong.
  2. Go to Troubleshooting section of the Installation PDF available on the Alias DVD for more details on what to look for.
